Candle Care
Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before lighting, every time. Burn your candle for 2-4 hours, especially at the beginning. If you purchased a wood wick candle, please pinch off the charred wood before re-lighting. Wood wicks are a little finicky (but worth it, for the crackle) so be careful to not trim too much, or leave too much charred wood on the wick.
Hint: We sell wick trimmers under Accessories
Do not burn continuously for more than four hours.
Keep burning candles away from drafts & other flammable materials.
Extinguish if the flame is flickering excessively or sooting.
Let the candle reset, then trim the wick and relight.
Keep candles away from children & pets.
Keep candles in view & never leave them unattended.
Candle vessels can get hot. Don't touch or move the jar when lit.
Keep candle free of dust & foreign materials.
Only burn on a level, heat-resistant surface.
To avoid tunneling ensure the melted wax (melt pool) reaches the edge. A good rule of thumb is one inch per hour of melt pool. If your candle is 3 inches wide at the opening, burn for 3 hours, thereabouts. Keep in mind, though, not all wax will reach full melt pool until it burns deeper into the vessel. Just try not to light the candle for 10 minutes, then extinguish, then relight, etc... This can cause tunneling.
The scent comes from the melt pool. Give it some time, just not all day!
